Imersia is partnering with Auckland Council to provide a guide for Auckland Anniversary Weekend and beyond.

The app is an event guide, a way-finding system, augmented reality experiences and a multi-user mixed reality game, all rolled into one. Use the app to discover hidden magic in the Downtown, Queens Wharf and Waterfront precincts. This app will further evolve through the course of this coming year to encompass a series of city based virtual experiences.

During the weekend you can use the app to:

· travel through time to view many different kinds of Auckland transport. Follow the marked trail in Queens Wharf and Downtown and get rewarded when you complete the hunt for these historical treasures.
· watch a livestream telecast of John Logan Campbell’s video introduction to the Auckland Anniversary event.
· find an Auckland Anniversary staff member and ask if you can point your device at their T-shirt.
· learn about future city developments – including the planned rail link. Just head to Queen Elizabeth Square and point and use the ‘DISCOVER’ mode on the app to look at the marker on the ground… and watch the magic begin.
· enliven your Anniversary experience with additional information, real time contextualized entertainment and offers.
· and of course use the app to discover all the great events taking place over this special weekend.
Imersia’s 175th Anniversary app was tailor made for the city but it is not just your guide for Auckland’s Anniversary - it’s also the start of Auckland City’s journey to being a true all embracing intelligent city with a heart, supporting one of the most diverse populations in the world.

Download it now and don’t delete it. Imersia’s app will quietly evolve through the course of the 175th Anniversary year to support an ongoing vista of unique heritage, cultural and entertainment experiences. Think of it as literally a live, ‘real time’ channel experience to your city!
